Altered clothing

C and I went to a LIBRARIAN DANCE PARTY last weekend - and of course needed appropriate costumes!

The shirt is a men's button down from the clothes-swap last week - i took in the cuffs and narrowed the shoulders, gathered the sleeves at the shoulder, removed the collar, and added lace to the cuffs and neck, to make it more frilly-uptight-librarian-styles.

The skirt is made from a pair of wool pinstriped trousers that i found in the trash (along with half a dozen other sweet wool trousers!) I am so proud of the FABULOUS kick pleat at the back, which i made without a pattern or really any idea how to do such a thing. i rock. if i do say so myself.

You can't see well in any of these pictures, but i also made the broach i'm wearing - a sort of faux cameo. it's just fimo, pressed into a empty setting from an old necklace of moonlightjoy. Complete the look with some busted clip on rhinestone earrings providing jewels to hot glue on both my glasses and ear studs, pair of argyle socks, and a anal-retentive attitude, natch.

I love costume parties! Can we have more costume parties, please?
